LENGTH includes the complete toggle/lobster clasp. The measurement is the from the very end of the clasp to the very end of the opposite side. NOTE: toggle clasps work by overlapping the ring and bar. Therefore, if the description says 8 inch length and has a toggle clasp, the claspable (I know not a real word) length is less than 8 inches. YES charm bracelets can be easily shortened at no extra charge. If a longer bracelet is needed, I may be able to make an identical one if I have enough beads for that particular bracelet. AS for pierced metal sensitivities: the silver tone hooks are possibly 925 (most of them I bought as 925 online and some hooks are stamped 925, but not sure if the manufacturer is truthful) So there is no guarantee on the metal they contain. So silver tone may be 925, but it is listed as silver tone since there is no way to prove purity) The gold tone hook wires and silver tone pierced flatbacks are not 925 (not sure what metal they contain).
